The opening of the Denver regional US Patent and
Trademark Office (USPTO) continues to be of great interest in our community. As reported in the Denver Business Journal
, the USPTO announced in July 2012 that Denver was one of the three metro areas to be awarded a satellite branch; a long-sought victory for the region that could mean an estimated $439 million in economic impact over five years. Landing the office has been a major goal of the city’s legal, business and economic-development leaders for years as a boost to Colorado’s innovative clusters including bioscience, aerospace and cleantech industries, and as a source of high-paying jobs. A member of the Executive Management team in Washington D.C., Dana Colarulli is visiting City Club of Denver to discuss the new Denver Regional USPTO, elaborating on topics including: how the decision was made to locate an office in Denver, what types of activities the office will engage in, how it plans to connect with our community, what the economic impact could be, and other benefits this will bring to the area.
