Join us as Roxane White, Chief of Staff to Mayor John Hickenlooper, talks about how the City’s safety departments are structured, the reforms that have been made to the discipline process and how the City is working to address the community’s concerns about these cases. Several police cases in the news recently have caused community concern about the use of police force and the City’s discipline process.
Roxane White became Chief of Staff for Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper in September of 2009. She also served in the Hickenlooper Administration as the Manager of the Department of Human Services from 2003-08. In the interim, she served as the Executive Director of the Timothy and Bernadette Marquez Foundation.
Roxane’s community and professional leadership includes having created and Chaired Denver’s Road Home, serving on the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Civic Venture Board, being adjunct faculty at Metropolitan State College, and a founding board member of the African School Assistance Program and the Biennial of the Americas. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of her Church’s Parish-Staff Committee and on A+ Denver and the Denver Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors. She was also a 2010 nominee for the Denver Business Journal, Outstanding Women in Business Award.
Roxane and her partner, Denis Murstein, are the parents of three children ages 17, 19 and 21.
