Higher education is no longer just four years at ol’ State U. It's also adult education, skills training and workforce development. It's also more-than-high-school-less-than-college to fill in-demand, good-paying "middle-skill jobs." How does Colorado adapt to and meet the needs of our changing demographics? How do we keep up with the technological changes in the way we teach and learn, such as with online colleges? How does Colorado adapt to the changing nature of the workplace and workforce? What are new approaches and new thinking on financing higher education?
City Club of Denver members and guests will learn some of the possible answers to these questions from
Wade Buchanan
, President of the
Bell Policy Center
.
About Wade Buchanan
Wade Buchanan has been president of the Bell Policy Center since 2001. Under Wade’s tenure, the Bell has grown from a start-up organization to become one of the premier progressive policy organizations in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West. Wade pulled together a veteran professional staff that has played a major role in fiscal reform, education policy, economic security and other key issues that affect the well-being of working families in Colorado. Wade holds a bachelor of arts in history from Colorado College and a master's of philosophy in international relations from Oxford University in England, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
About Bell Policy Center
The Bell Policy Center is a Denver-based policy research center. The Bell believes that Colorado should be a state of opportunity undefined a place where all people can build better lives for themselves and their families. It seeks to reinvigorate the debate on issues affecting the well-being of Coloradans and to promote policies that open gateways to opportunity.
