I agree... it was helpful... but the format was boring. Different questions for each candidate would have made the time go faster. Four of the candidates were clearly incompetent and inept and think they are entitled to begin their quest for elected office at the top.
Chris Romer's insult did not go unnoticed.
Theresa Spahn had my vote until she mentioned working with Joyce Foster. Joyce's failure to investigate the nature of the acts committed by her brother-in-law, and then taking the actions she did on the floor of the Colorado Senate calls all of her work into question. I wouldn't have known about Theresa's lack of insight into this arena had I not attended the lunch.
I'm going to vote for Doug Linkhart. He struck me as the only candidate who wanted the office for what he could DO as mayor. Investment into urban problems in order to prevent bigger costs down the road makes the most sense to me. It also proves we are a community, not a for-profit business, not a labor union, and not a school system. I think Doug represents the best of our values as Coloradans.
