City Club of Denver member Dennis Gallagher asked us to share with others the answer to his question posed to Ed Nichols during the talk on October 12, 2010, "The History Colorado Center – A New Canvas for Colorado's History" regarding the cost of re-branding the Colorado Historical Society to History Colorado. We hope you find this information helpful.

In response to the inquiry as to, "at whose direction and at what cost" was the re-branding undertaken, I wanted to get the following information. The Board of Trustees was the one to gave direction and approve the re-branding work effort in the 2006 timeframe. The work involved two organizations - DK Holland to assess the audience perceptions and do a brand identity workshop, and CommArts to develop the new logo and design the new business correspondence letterhead, cards and related items. The total of the two contracts was just under $20,000 ($19,753).
